🎬 Casting Call: The Untold Story of The Sorry Jacks
Long before their rise to fame, an unnamed NYC band in the early 2000s seeks out their missing piece.
We’re casting for an independent film and looking for theatre/film students (ages 18–22) to play the three central band members:
Adam Stovall

The most level-headed and rational member of the band. Calm, quiet, and a little aloof at times, but funny and enthusiastic when it comes to having a good time with his best friends.

Appearance: Tall and slender, with an understated, bookish charm. Think messy hair, dark-rimmed glasses, and a slightly disheveled, downtown intellectual vibe, like the kind of guy who looks like he wandered out of a thrift store or an indie show. Preferably minimal tattoos/piercings.
Cyrus “Mayhem” Mahim

The goofy heart of the band. Naturally funny, endlessly charming, and always ready with a joke but beneath it all, he cares deeply for his friends and the music they’re creating together. His energy lights up the room and keeps everyone grounded.

Appearance: Tall and slender, with natural curly hair and a magnetic, expressive presence. We are specifically seeking a Black actor for this role. The look should feel effortless, the kind of person who’s equally at home cracking jokes on the couch, playing drums in a smoky club, or laughing with friends on a late-night walk. Preferably minimal tattoos/piercings.
Owen Hoffman

The “cool one” of the band, or at least that’s how he wants to be seen. On the surface, Owen seems effortlessly detached and stylish, the kind of guy who leans against the wall with a cigarette and a sly smile. But under that exterior, his insecurities slip through; he cares deeply about how others perceive him, even if he hides it behind charm and irony.

Appearance: Dark, curly hair with an androgynous, slightly wild edge. Open to all ethnic backgrounds. His look should feel magnetic and a little untamed, the kind of presence that draws people in whether he’s on stage under flashing lights or caught in a candid moment at a party.
