PAID ROLES AVAILABLE: Casting Call for Lethe upcoming fantasy film (Includes child actor positions)
Lethe is a dark fantasy set during the Second Crusade. All main characters have paid positions. There are depictions of violence throughout the film. If you are averse to such portrayals, this film is not for you. All characters witnessing or portraying violence will be marked with an asterisk. This film is not associated with a UNM class and not being filmed at UNM. Everything is foam or wood. In post production, we’re adding blood effects and such.

MAIN CHARACTERS
- The Knight (Male, 20s-40s) *
A rugged, battle-worn warrior with a commanding presence and deep emotional scars. Must convey torment, through intense physicality and nuanced expressions. Experience with period drama and swordplay a plus. - The Friar (Male, 20s-40s) *
A jovial, earnest cleric with warmth and moral conviction. Conveys camaraderie and courage, with the ability to shift to urgency in action scenes. - The Wife (Female, 20s-30s)
A poised yet distraught woman with quiet strength and emotional depth. Should portray resilience and heartbreak through subtle gestures. Ability to handle dramatic confrontations essential. - The Blind Monk (Male, 30s-60s) *
A gaunt, enigmatic figure with an unsettling aura. Must balance spiritual gravitas with subtle menace, delivering cryptic dialogue with authority. Strong stage presence required. - The Goblin (Female, Any Age)
A provocative, otherworldly being with a garish edge. Should exude cunning and mischief through bold physicality and sharp delivery. Emphasis on voice acting. Must be comfortable wearing make up for fantastical character portrayal. -
Seer (Female, Any Age)An ethereal, glowing figure with a serene yet commanding presence. Should convey divine or supernatural allure through graceful movement and poetic delivery. Experience with mystical roles a plus.
CHILD ROLES
- The Daughter (Female, 13 and under)
Must be comfortable with emotionally intense scenes. Theater work preferred (not required). - The Son (Male, 13 and under)
Must be comfortable witnessing acted confrontation and delivering a few lines of dialogue. Theater work preferred (not required).
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
- The Stygian (Male, 20s-40s, Face Not Visible) *
A menacing, darkly armored warrior with a mysterious and relentless presence. Should embody both physical threat and symbolic weight. Stunt and swordplay experience is required. - The Ferryman (Male, 20s-60s) *
A grizzled, rough-hewn figure with a cynical, unyielding demeanor. Must deliver gruff dialogue with intensity. - The Boy (Male, 20s and under. Requires boyish look) *
A haunting, innocent young boy with an accusatory edge. Must evoke sympathy and spectral intensity through minimal dialogue and expressive features. - Jack (Male, 20s-40s) *
A loyal soldier. Shows camaraderie and temperament. - Slug (Male, 20s-40s) *
A rough, loud, soldier. Must convey energy and grief in tense scenes. - Tracker (Male, 20s-40s) *
A weathered guide with a protective instinct. Should portray fear and defiance in high-stakes confrontations. Middle Eastern background or accent a plus but not required.
EXTRA ROLES
- Acolytes (Mixed Gender, Any Age, 5 positions) *
Dark-robed cultists with fanatical intensity. Must convey menace through synchronized movement and minimal dialogue. Stunt experience and comfort with violent scenes preferred. - Spirits (Mixed Gender, Any Age, 10 positions)
Tormented, ghostly figures with anguished expressions and unsettling presence. Must convey suffering through physicality and minimal vocalization. Dance or movement training preferred.
Notes: Actors should be comfortable with period costumes, and emotionally charged scenes. Some roles require mild stunt work, sword fighting, or supernatural portrayals. Please prepare a dramatic monologue and be ready for cold reads with period dialogue.
