In this new class, you will explore a new storytelling language as a director — one that will ignite in you the storyteller you always knew you could be.

Welcome to the Discovery Technique. You will learn how to express your ideas to other filmmakers and — more importantly — how to clearly and powerfully direct actors. Because we are all tired of hearing the directing cliché: “More emotion.” “Be angry.” “Can you do it differently?”

In this 8-week class, you will join award-winning Actor/Writer/Director Ron Weisberg and create your first short film concept — working with actors to workshop and put your vision on camera. Each week you will film from your phones to learn the entire process from writing to shooting to editing. Special film industry guests will join us, specializing in cameras and editing to round out your experience.
