The Janus casting call is now open, and Story Quest Studios is proud to share this Janus casting call with actors in Albuquerque and throughout New Mexico. Directed by UNM undergraduate Felix Leggett, this is a compelling dramatic short film shooting February 13th–15th, 2026.
Janus Casting Call: About the Project
Janus is a dramatic short film written and directed by Felix Leggett, a UNM undergraduate filmmaker. The story follows Anders and Nils, a father and son duo on the run — only Anders knows the reasons why. The two struggle together until they reach a breaking point, and Nils must find his own peace. Filming takes place February 13th–15th, 2026, primarily on location in the desert near Fort Sumner, NM. This is a non-union production. All actors will receive screening credits and $50 each for 2–3 days of work. Please note that this film will be submitted to film festivals in and out of state and country — all cast members must provide written consent to public screening. If you have been developing your craft in our Albuquerque acting classes, this is a meaningful opportunity to take your skills to a real set.
Roles Available
Anders (Male, 45–55) — a father carrying a secret that drives the story forward. A complex, layered role requiring emotional depth and strong screen presence.
Nils (Male, 18–25) — Anders’ son, navigating uncertainty and ultimately finding his own resolve. A physically and emotionally demanding role ideal for a young actor ready for a challenge.
Any and all submissions are welcome as long as you fit the given age range.
