A casting call for an actress in New Mexico is now open for Bones — a 2 to 3 minute short narrative film directed by Scarlett, filming April 25th, 2026. Story Quest Studios is proud to share this opportunity with actors and crew across Albuquerque and New Mexico.
About the Film
Bones opens on a girl dragging herself across the vast New Mexican desert — bloodied, injured, and barely conscious. She collapses in the sand. An older man on horseback discovers her and tends to her wounds. When she wakes at magic hour, a tense, guarded exchange begins between two strangers with nothing but desert around them. It is a lean, visual, character-driven piece with a strong central performance at its core — exactly the kind of raw, instinctual work our Albuquerque acting classes are built to develop. The film may be submitted to film festivals.

Who We’re Looking For
Jane (Lead Actress) — Female, 20s. A young woman found near death in the desert — physically demanding role requiring strong physical and emotional presence. No dialogue in the opening sequence, pure performance.
Sound Tech — Minimal experience required. A great on-set learning opportunity.
Makeup Artist — Basic gore experience needed: cuts, bruises, and injury effects.
Production Details
Filming date: Saturday, April 25th, 2026
Call time: Noon — filming through sundown
Compensation: Non-union, unpaid. All cast and crew receive on-screen credits and meals provided throughout the day.
Festival submission: Film may be submitted to festivals — all participants must consent to public screenings.
